E. FRANCHISE and TRANSITION TAG RULES
E.1 FRANCHISE Tag (cost 50 PTB’s): This tag gives GMs the ability to receive compensation of a 1st round pick in the event that this player is signed by another team.
*** Each franchise will be allowed to use one franchise tag each year if owner so chooses. *** Franchise tags must be declared prior to RFA. Tag announcement deadline is March 15th of each year. *** Franchise tags can only be used on players who are RFA. *** Franchise tagged players participate in RFA. *** All tagged players must receive a minimum 3 year contract or greater. *** Bidding on all Franchise Tagged players starts at $51 PTB's. *** If a franchise does not have sufficient PTBs to cover the cost of the franchise tag they will be excluded from using their tag. *** If the team that placed the Franchise Tag on said player wins auction he is responsible for the difference in the final price. (Final Price minus $50 already paid) *** If the team that placed the Franchise tag on said player loses player in RFA, the franchise gets the cost of using the tag ($50 PTB's) credited back to them. *** If you don’t have a first round pick in both the upcoming and following (next) years drafts, you can’t bid on any Franchise Tagged players.
E.1.A.
